From Word to World Retreat: bringing your truth through the written and spoken word into the world!
Here’s a little taste of this year’s Word to World Retreat…
Our venue for the week is Sandhill House, Donegal, Republic of Ireland.
Nestled in the spectacular scenery of North-West of Donegal, sits Sandhill House Retreat. Complete with newly built yoga studio, ensuite bedrooms, hot tub and fire lodge, Sandhill House is just a few minutes from beautiful wild beaches and dense tree forests. With incredible nature views, there are lots of places to get out of our heads and into our bodies…
“Sandhill House in Dunfanaghy, Ireland was a magical venue! The venue was beautiful, comfortable, cozy and welcoming. Sandhill House overlooked a beautiful golf course, a beach and the Altantic Ocean! So many amenities were unexpected and enriched my experience! The lovely bedrooms with ensuite baths, the bright yoga studio, the cozy "sharing room", the wishing well, an outdoor hot tub, a beautiful garden area and a fire lodge all enhanced the experience!” - retreat participant.
And if you’re wondering how to get to and from the retreat centre…the good news is there’s a direct bus from Dublin Airport that will take you straight to the door of Sandhill House. You can relax and enjoy the scenic journey, letting the beautiful landscape set the tone for your retreat. Think of it as a pilgrimage…a chance to leave behind the hustle and bustle, and embrace the tranquillity that awaits you in the north-west coast.
Joining me as guest teacher for the week is Martha Rice. Canadian based, Martha is a Qoya Inspired Movement teacher, vocal alchemist, and founder of Partners in Expression. She is passionate about the body, heart, voice connection and empowering self-expression. With over 20 years experience as a speech therapist, Martha offers integrative voice therapy and vocal coaching for heart-centred beings so they can express their brilliance with ease and flow. Most Mondays you can find Martha spiralling around a labyrinth in meditation, singing in the woods, or cold plunging.
What’s included? 6 nights accommodation - 3 vegetarian meals per day - all tuition and daily sessions including wild swimming and forest bathing outings.
What’s not included? Flights to and from Ireland - transfers to and from your arrival/departure destination to and from Sandhill House.
Our retreat will begin with our opening circle to connect and set our intentions for our week together. Each day will begin with guided silent mindfulness practice which will continue into our shared breakfast. Our morning sessions will be spent in somatic movement, dance, writing and voice practices - exploring the body, voice and heart connection. A nutritious lunch will be served around our shared table, after which there will be some space to take some time to rest, journal, process, enjoy the nature surroundings… our retreats are intended to be a deep dive and we recognise the need for time for integration of our experiences. We will regather for our sharing circle before dinner, and our evening sessions will be spent engaging in various ceremonies to deepen and further integrate our journey together. There is also the opportunity for indulging ourselves in the outdoor hot tub and fire lodge, as well as making pilgrimages to the beach and forest for wild swimming and tree meditations. We endeavour to provide the perfect balance of music and quietude…of movement and stillness…of connection with self and connection with each other. Our week together will end with our closing circle before lunch on our last day.

Here’s what people have said about previous Heroine’s Journey retreats…
“I've not been on anything like this before so didn't really know what to expect. It does feel that I have been on quite a transformational journey, for me parts of it were certainly difficult and challenging. But I really do feel I have accessed some deep change within myself, I'm really enjoying this feeling now!”
“I loved the richness and magical experience of the ceremonies, dance and mindfulness, the space felt so safe and so much care and love put into it. For many years I have denied some of these aspects of myself but now I'm starting to rediscovery those again. The location also felt an important part of the journey, I'm going away with a deep renewal of my love for nature and living a more simple way of life. The food was amazing too!”
“The retreat was a healing journey. We laughed, cried and connected. For a group of almost strangers, we've all come away with a lasting bond of sharing and support."
"Emotions were felt, freed and witnessed while our bodies relaxed into the mountains. This retreat is now part of my heroine's journey."
"Victoria led me into a deep internal journey through exciting and enchanting experiences, enabling me to feel safe, held, loved and challenged in expanding my inner world."
"This retreat really is awesome! If you are looking to open your heart and take a journey into your feminine heroine, then this is the retreat for you. There are so many retreats on the market, but Victoria has captured something special here and I can't recommend this enough."
